Inmagic® Genie

A Web-based library automation solution

Information centres are changing, and so are library systems.

Inmagic Genie is a web-based solution designed to meet the changing needs of today’s information centre. It provides effective management and access for both traditional and non-traditional library materials. Accessible from a standard Internet browser, Genie supports the back-office needs of the information centre while simultaneously providing a rich and robust retrieval environment for end users.

These core capabilities support the back-office needs of the information centre as well as offering a growing set of self-service capabilities for end users. More...

And, because Genie is part of the Inmagic Information Management Solutions family, it runs on the Inmagic Content Server platform. Inmagic Content Server also allows you to create databases in addition to those required to support Inmagic Genie so that you can provide access to a growing set of content resources both internal and external.

Inmagic Genie is designed to allow you to serve the growing needs of your global enterprise by offering functions directly from the Web, available 24/7.

Features Focus

File (Document/Image) Upload

With Genie you can upload a document file and/or an image file to a catalogue record. For a document file (for example, the table of contents for a book), you can link to the original document and therefore be able to view the file and/or use the CS/Importer (comes with Genie) to import the full text of the document to enable searching of the text. For an image file, you link to the original image file.
